ALITA 196 – Versatile Unsaturated Polyester for FRP, Food Containers, and Industrial Applications

Principal Properties & Application:

ALITA 196 resin is an unsaturated polyester resin primarily made from phthalic anhydride. It has medium viscosity and moderate reactivity, low shrinkage, and is suitable for hand lay-up processes to produce ordinary fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) products, cooling towers, and dilute acid containers.
ALITA 196 resin meets the testing requirements of GB31604 food hygiene standards and can be used to manufacture food containers and non-toxic, non-polluting FRP products. It is also suitable for making tanks, silos, and similar containers used in the processing and preservation of food and grains.
ALITA 196 resin complies with the certification requirements of China Classification Society (CCS). It has good strength, rigidity, impact resistance, and overall performance. It is suitable for hand lay-up molded FRP vehicle shells, marine components, and other FRP products.

Note:

      1. The casting process follows GB/T 8237-2005, with a curing system consisting of 0.5% Co/oct promoter and 2.0% Butanox M-50 curing agent.

      1. After casting, the curing treatment involves 24 hours at room temperature, followed by 2 hours at 60°C and 2 hours at 80°C.

      1. After applying fiberglass reinforcement, the curing treatment involves 24 hours at room temperature, followed by 3 hours at 60°C and 3 hours at 110°C.

    Instruction and attention:

        1. ALITA 196 resin contains wax and does not contain promoters or thixotropic agents.

        1. For applications with higher heat and corrosion resistance requirements, it is suggested to select ALITA epoxy-based 901 resin.

      Handling and Storage:

This resin contains ingredients which could be harmful if mishandled. Contact with skin and eyes should be avoided and necessary protective equipment and clothing should be worn.
Drums – It is highly recommended that all material is stored at stable temperatures below 25°C (77°F). Avoid exposure to heat sources such as direct sunlight or steam pipes. To avoid contamination of product with water, do not store outdoors. Keep sealed to prevent moisture pick-up and monomer loss. Rotate stock.

      How can I get a sample?2024-07-17T06:56:11+00:00

We provide small samples free of charge, but you will need to cover the shipping costs.

Are you able to adjust the formula to meet our requirement?2024-07-17T06:59:11+00:00

We have our own technical department. After you test the sample, please provide us with your detailed requirements. We can adjust the resin accordingly to enhance the properties of your finished products.

What is the lead time for mass production?2024-07-17T07:00:10+00:00

Honestly, it depends on the quantity. We will do our best to create a production plan based on your estimated time of arrival (ETA).

What are your terms of payment?2024-07-17T07:01:14+00:00

For the first trial order, we require 100% payment upfront. For subsequent orders, we ask for 30% payment in advance and 70% payment after the buyer receives the B/L copy. We also accept L/C if needed.
