ALITA 228 – Ideal Choice for Pultruded Fiberglass Rods

Principal Properties & Application:

ALITA 228 resin is an unsaturated polyester resin made mainly from phthalic anhydride, featuring medium viscosity and medium reactivity. ALITA 228 resin boasts high mechanical strength and toughness, making it ideal for pultrusion processes. This resin is particularly suited for manufacturing pultruded fiberglass rods used in tent poles, grilles, doors, windows, and other products.

Note:
The casting method is performed according to GB/T 8237-2005, curing system: promoter 0.6% Co Naph 1.0%, curing agent Enox BPO-50F 1%;
Casting: 4mm thick, post-curing conditions are: room temperature × 24h, 60℃ × 3h, 110℃ × 2h.

Usage instructions:

1. ALITA 228 resin does not contain wax, accelerator, or thixotropic agent.
2. The recommended curing system for pultrusion processes is BPO curing agent 0.5-2.0% and TBPB curing agent 0.5-1.5%. The actual selection should be based on specific equipment, products, process temperature, pultrusion speed, and other factors. When making thick products, it is recommended to add a low shrinkage agent to reduce the shrinkage rate.
3. For higher heat resistance and seawater resistance requirements, it is recommended to choose isophthalic ALITA 239 resin; for higher corrosion resistance requirements, it is recommended to choose epoxy vinyl ester ALITA 901 resin.

Handling and Storage:

This resin contains ingredients which could be harmful if mishandled. Contact with skin and eyes should be avoided and necessary protective equipment and clothing should be worn.
Drums – It is highly recommended that all material is stored at stable temperatures below 25°C (77°F). Avoid exposure to heat sources such as direct sunlight or steam pipes. To avoid contamination of product with water, do not store outdoors. Keep sealed to prevent moisture pick-up and monomer loss. Rotate stock.

How can I get a sample?2024-07-17T06:56:11+00:00

We provide small samples free of charge, but you will need to cover the shipping costs.

Are you able to adjust the formula to meet our requirement?2024-07-17T06:59:11+00:00

We have our own technical department. After you test the sample, please provide us with your detailed requirements. We can adjust the resin accordingly to enhance the properties of your finished products.

What is the lead time for mass production?2024-07-17T07:00:10+00:00

Honestly, it depends on the quantity. We will do our best to create a production plan based on your estimated time of arrival (ETA).

What are your terms of payment?2024-07-17T07:01:14+00:00

For the first trial order, we require 100% payment upfront. For subsequent orders, we ask for 30% payment in advance and 70% payment after the buyer receives the B/L copy. We also accept L/C if needed.
