Calcium carbonate

Calcium carbonate is an important component in fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), commonly referred to as fiberglass, where it acts as a filler or reinforcing agent. FRP is a composite material made up of glass fibers and resin, typically epoxy or polyester, known for its exceptional strength and resistance to corrosion. As a result, it finds extensive use in various industries.

In the context of FRP, calcium carbonate is incorporated as an additive within the resin matrix to enhance the composite’s physical and processing properties. It plays a crucial role in increasing hardness and strength, which in turn improves abrasion resistance and overall durability. Additionally, using calcium carbonate helps to reduce production costs while maintaining or even boosting material performance, making it a cost-effective choice.

Another advantage of calcium carbonate is that it enhances the flowability and moldability of FRP, leading to increased processing efficiency. Furthermore, this compound improves the fire resistance of FRP due to its stability under high temperatures, thereby expanding its applicability in a wider range of applications. In summary, utilizing calcium carbonate as a filler or reinforcing agent significantly enhances the physical characteristics, processing capabilities, and fire resistance of FRP, thereby extending its usage across various industrial sectors.

How can I get a sample?2024-07-17T06:56:11+00:00

We provide small samples free of charge, but you will need to cover the shipping costs.

Are you able to adjust the formula to meet our requirement?2024-07-17T06:59:11+00:00

We have our own technical department. After you test the sample, please provide us with your detailed requirements. We can adjust the resin accordingly to enhance the properties of your finished products.

What is the lead time for mass production?2024-07-17T07:00:10+00:00

Honestly, it depends on the quantity. We will do our best to create a production plan based on your estimated time of arrival (ETA).

What are your terms of payment?2024-07-17T07:01:14+00:00

For the first trial order, we require 100% payment upfront. For subsequent orders, we ask for 30% payment in advance and 70% payment after the buyer receives the B/L copy. We also accept L/C if needed.
